
MEET OUR COACHES
Woody
Having started his playing career under renowned coach Craig Jones, Woody has competed on the junior circuit at state, regional, and national levels. Throughout his tennis journey, he has honed his coaching skills, working with juniors and adults alike in both Athens and Las Vegas.
Woody's impressive background extends beyond the court, with a degree from the University of Georgia and a summa cum laude graduation from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Now, as the head of instructional programming at Petersburg Tennis Academy, Woody shares his passion for tennis by offering private and group lessons tailored to each individual's needs.
Herick
Herick grew up in Brazil playing tennis since he was really little, competing in national and international tournaments. In the fall of 2019, he moved to the USA to play college tennis for Augusta University, where he played singles and doubles for five years and he was team captain in his last two years.
With a strong background in competitive tennis, Herick is eager to share his knowledge and help players of all ages improve their game.
Rakesh
Rakesh was born and raised in Aiken, SC and started playing tennis at the age of 8. He competed at the highest level and was ranked nationally in junior tennis. He won 2 State Championships at South Aiken in '98 and '99. He went on to attend Clemson University and graduated in '03.
His coaching career started in 2008, and he coached South Aiken Boys Tennis until 2021. The team went to 9 State Championships and won two. He then switched to Mead Hall Episcopal School, coaching their Middle and High School teams for the last couple of years.
Rakesh wants to continue to grow the game and help adults and kids reach their full potential. Pickleball is the latest game to explode, and he would love to introduce players to this game because it is here to stay.
Andrea
Andrea grew up in Mexico. She is currently a student and plays number 1 singles and doubles for the tennis team at Augusta University. Majoring in Business Administration, she got great tennis and academic recognition, being all academic conference team last year.
She is eager to share her knowledge and experience with competitive tennis background with all age groups.
Enzo
Enzo is from Brazil and currently he is also on the tennis team at Augusta University. After finishing his sophomore year last year, he earned great results which lead to his all conference teams in both years. He is also a business administration major with a concentration in Finance.
Playing number 1 for singles and doubles, he is willing to help our students with his level and experience on court.
